Programme Overview
The MBA (Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Management) hereafter ‘MBA TTHM’, offered by IIM Sirmaur in collaboration with the University of Technology Mauritius (UTM) and the University of Mauritius (UOM), is a distinctive global management programme designed to develop future-ready leaders for the tourism, travel, hospitality, aviation, events, and allied service industries across international markets.
This two-year, full-time MBA integrates rigorous management education with international immersion and experiential learning, enabling students to navigate complex business environments with confidence and cultural intelligence. A defining feature of the programme is its embedded global mobility component, which allows students to study, work, and network across India and Mauritius, fostering international exposure and professional growth.
During Year One (Terms 1–3), delivered at IIM Sirmaur, students build a strong foundation in core management disciplines, including strategy, marketing, finance, operations, analytics, leadership, and sustainability, with a clear focus on their application to the tourism and hospitality ecosystem. In Year Two (April–December), the programme transitions to Mauritius, where students undertake Term 4 at the University of Technology Mauritius and Term 5 at the University of Mauritius. This nine-month international immersion provides exposure to global faculty, cross-cultural classrooms, and applied academic experiences, including live group projects, industry interactions, and collaborative learning initiatives. During this period, students also benefit from paid Summer Internship Programmes (SIPs) with international organisations, offering valuable industry experience and strong prospects for final placements.
Students return to India in December/January to complete Term 6 at IIM Sirmaur, consolidating their global learning experience and preparing for leadership roles in the international service economy. Upon successful completion of the programme, graduates are awarded an internationally recognised MBA degree from IIM Sirmaur, supported by a unique combination of IIM academic rigour, global exposure, and industry-embedded learning.
