BMS International Student Admission Policy

1. Objective

This document details the process that will be adopted for selecting international students for Admission to the Bachelors in Management Studies (BMS) at the Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur for the Academic Year 2026-30.

2. Eligibility

o Minimum 60% marks in class 10th and 12th.
o Valid SAT /IPMAT (IIM Indore) Score.
o An applicant should be an International citizen, who is not an Indian national and does not hold an Indian passport OR any Overseas Citizen of India, as defined by the government of India rules as of the last day of application

3. Fee Structure

  • *In addition to the above fee, international students pay a caution deposit of $500
  • The proposed fee amount may be revised based on inflation / exchange rate variances every year

3.1 SAARC/ Indian Subcontinent countries

The fee structure for the candidates from SAARC countries (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri-Lanka) is at par with the Indian nationals as appended below:

5. Selection Process

o The shortlisted applicant shall be invited for a personal interview via email.
o Interviews for shortlisted candidates will be conducted online.
o Final selection is based on a diverse set of attributes, including performance in the prescribed test, performance in Personal Interview, Academic performance, co-curricular and extra-curricular achievements, and work experience.
o On the recommendation of the panel, offer letters will be made to the selected applicants. The decision of the selection panel shall be final and binding.

6. Important Points

Offers of Admission under any category/quota shall be strictly in order of merit in accordance with the selection parameters and composite score obtained by a candidate. Candidates accepting the offer, will be charged an acceptance fee to reserve their seats. Tuition fee, hostel charges, alumni fee, mediclaim fee, refundable caution money and other fee components as per the fee structure shall be charged as per the amount and timelines shared in offer letter.

The age limit for candidates is a maximum 20 years as on August 1st 2026 (born on or after August 01, 2006) and five-year age relaxation is given to SC, ST and PwD candidates (born on or after August 01, 2001).

The Institute reserves the right to change/modify the admission process/criteria. Prospective candidates are advised to monitor the IIM Sirmaur website for the latest updates.

Hostel fee shall not be charged in Term VI as the student would undergo an Industry internship or an International exchange program. If the student undergoes an international exchange program (voluntary), the cost of the exchange shall have to be paid by the student. The cost would include tuition fee, transport, boarding & lodging, visa, local travel, etc. The student shall also have to pay a Caution deposit and Mess fee separately.

Any misrepresentation or suppression of information by a candidate at any stage during the admissions process or at any later date, will lead to immediate disqualification of the candidate from the programme and the onus of the responsibility and its consequences of misrepresentation or suppression of information lies on the candidate.

Admission will be confirmed only when the applicant will submit the marks sheet and the related certificates. The deadline for submission of any pending marks sheet and the provisional degree certificate is October 30, 2026. All the marksheets and related documents shall be verified in original. Non-fulfillment of the conditions of eligibility for the minimum percentage of marks obtained as applicable will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission.

Canvassing on the part of the applicants or misbehaving with the staff or faculty of the institute in any manner shall lead to his / her disqualification. In case, it is detected at any point of time in future, even after appointment, that the candidate was not eligible, appointment of the candidate shall be liable to termination.

Applicants intending to appear for the IPMAT entrance exam conducted by IIM Indore must register directly at the IIM Indore IPMAT Portal before the stipulated deadline given at the IIM Indore portal. The test fee is payable exclusively to IIM Indore. IIM Sirmaur has no role or responsibility in the registration process or fee collection or organisation of this test.

Any dispute concerning admissions to IIM Sirmaur would be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts within the territorial jurisdiction of the city of Paonta Sahib, Himachal Pradesh only
