Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS)

In compliance to the vision and regulations set forth in the NEP – 2020 by the Government of India, the BMS programme aims to bring fresh perspectives from the cohort of undergraduate students fostering a stronger culture at IIM Sirmaur. This programme blends different components that are must for the holistic creation of future leaders including interdisciplinary courses, industry interface with practical subjects, internship opportunities, research component in curriculum, international exchange, capstone project, and guest lectures. The BMS programme provides multiple exit options allowing the students a greater flexibility to pursue their aspirations, in line with the provisions of NEP - 2020. The academic curriculum of the BMS programme is completed by the core and elective courses delivered by some of the best faculty in the country, along with experienced industry practitioners. It follows the objectives like, Global perspective through the International Exchange Program, Innovative pedagogy including numerous projects, hands-on software training, and industry exposure leading towards an overall academic excellence.

Value Proposition

The BMS programme makes the students industry-ready by training them in different functional areas of management, hands-on training on software, live projects, and capstone projects. It allows the students to learn about the ever-changing dynamics of the world economy through international exposure. It offers a holistic development to students through courses on yoga and meditation, happiness, mental well-being, Indian knowledge systems, movies & philosophy, etc. Overall it sensitizes students towards increasing global challenges like climate change fallouts, environmental degradation, sustainability, circular economy, etc. and provide them with a good platform for pursuing higher education in diverse fields.
After the completion of four years of BMS Programme, the students are expected to get equipped with adequate knowledge about different functional areas of management and the concerned practices, which will help them to work at different levels in an organization. With a holistic view of life and the workplace understanding the global business market and the associated challenges the students shall be able to address global challenges related to the environment and sustainability, helping to attain the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Apart from this the BMS students will be ready for pursuing higher education in India and abroad.

Scholarships

Enrolled students of IIM Sirmaur may apply for scholarships available through the National Scholarship Portal (https://scholarships.gov.in), subject to eligibility as per the norms of the respective scholarship schemes. The concerned Programme Office and the Scholarship Office of IIM Sirmaur provide guidance to students regarding the application process and completion of the required formalities.

Loan Support

IIM Sirmaur has empanelled leading banks to facilitate education loans at preferential rates of interest. Comprehensive details of these empanelled banks, including key loan features and terms, are provided to students along with the admission offer letter. Students may independently evaluate the options available and are free to select any of the empanelled banks based on their individual financial requirements and the loan facilities offered. The Institute facilitates access to information; however, the final decision regarding the selection of the bank and loan availing process rests solely with the student.
